Blue Welcome

On Thursday evening the Sisters and Friars accompanied 6 of our Catholic girls to Stella Maris Convent, the Motherhouse of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Perpetual Help (Blue Sisters) a native Jamaican Congregation. Father Michael presided at the Eucharistic Liturgy during which 50 Sisters renewed their vows of poverty, chasity and obedience. Following the renewal the Blues welcomed two young ladies (age 19 and 21) to begin the process of becoming a Sister.

Our girls witnessed the Welcoming ceremony - who knows maybe one of them will be wearing Blue in the future? At one time Above Rocks was a hotbed for vocations to the Blue Sisters. Here our young ladies gather with native Saint Mary's vocations. The Sister with the white veil is a Novice and from Saint Mary's.

Something strange is happening:

All is ready. . . we pray. . . we wait . . .

GOOD FRIDAY . . . Living Stations

Will no one stay awake with me...

Peter, John or James? Can you spend but one hour in the Garden with me? The Holy Thursday Garden of Repose.

Fr Brad reminded us that Holy Thursday was once called Maundy Thursday...coming from the Latin, mandatum, or mandate: do as I Have done.

PALM SUNDAY PROCESSION

The annual Palm Sunday Procession to begin the Church Services for Holy Week at St. Mary's, Above Rocks, and Missions. As the local song here goes, " Enter into Jerusalem, let us go to God's House...with ya papa and ya mama...let us go to God's House."
